Publication routes for presented work.

Present your work in Aberdeen, then write it up as a full paper for a proposed proceedings volume, or an extended article for a partner journal special issue. Every submission is peer reviewed by the scientific committee.

Publication routes

Two routes after the conference.

Both routes are in discussion with publishers. We will confirm details on this page as soon as agreements are in place.

Proposed · in discussion

Conference proceedings

We have proposed a volume in Springer's Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering series. The series is indexed in Scopus and EI Compendex. Inclusion of the volume is subject to publisher approval.

  • Full papers of 6–10 pages, based on accepted abstracts
  • Further peer review before acceptance
  • Paper presented at the conference with a paid registration
Journal to be confirmed

Partner journal special issue

Selected authors will be invited to submit substantially extended papers to a special issue of a partner journal. The journal, scope and timeline are to be confirmed.

  • Invitation based on reviews and conference presentation
  • Substantial new material beyond the proceedings paper
  • The journal's own peer review and editorial policies apply
Please note: the proceedings volume and the special issue are proposed and still subject to publisher approval. Neither is guaranteed at this stage. Acceptance for presentation at AXIS 2027 does not guarantee publication in either.
Book of abstracts: every accepted abstract will be published in an open-access book of abstracts on Zenodo, with a DOI for each abstract, shortly after the conference. This costs authors nothing and does not prevent later journal publication.

Ethics & peer review

Single-blind, rolling peer review.

Every track has an academic and an industry co-chair, so submissions are judged on scientific quality and on their relevance to practice.

Single-blind review

Submissions are reviewed by members of the scientific committee. Reviewers see the authors' names, but authors do not see the reviewers' names. Abstracts are reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions in about ten days, and full papers receive a further review before acceptance.

Conflicts of interest

Reviewers declare any conflict, such as the same institution, recent co-authorship, supervision or a commercial interest, and are not assigned to those papers. Committee members' own submissions are handled by another co-chair.

Research integrity

Submissions must be original and must not be under review elsewhere in the same form. Data and prior work should be properly cited. Use of AI tools must be disclosed, and AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Suspected plagiarism or duplicate publication is investigated and may lead to rejection or withdrawal.
