AXIS 2027 is led by the team behind the ECM, Energy and Mechanics symposia held since 2014. Every track has an academic co-chair and an industry co-chair.

Conference Chair

Dr Henry Tan

University of Aberdeen. Henry chaired the ISECM/ECM1–6 symposia from 2014 to 2016 and the Energy7, Energy8, Mechanics1 and Quantum1 conferences in 2017–18, with delegates from 57 countries across the series.

Co-Chair · Programme & Industry

Dr Turan Mutallimov

University of Aberdeen. Turan leads the programme and industry partnerships, including the industry case-study sessions and the Challenge Exchange.

Dr Nurhasnita Hamzah

University of Aberdeen. Nurhasnita leads the scientific committee and peer review across the seven tracks, the PGR showcase and the awards.

Reviewers: the scientific committee also includes a pool of reviewers drawn from academia and industry. Membership will be listed here once confirmed. Reviewers declare conflicts of interest and review on a rolling basis between November and December 2026.
Industry advisory board

Four seats, open to industry.

The advisory board has seats for operators, the supply chain, regulators and investors. It advises on the Challenge Exchange and the industry case-study sessions, and judges the Industry Impact Award. Seats are open and members are to be confirmed.

Join as a reviewer

Researchers and practising engineers are welcome to review abstracts in their area. Review is rolling and assignments are matched to your expertise, with conflicts of interest declared up front.

Nominate an industry co-chair

Nominate an engineer, manager or technical leader with field experience, or yourself, as an industry co-chair.
